A key focus of the Samuel Tak Lee MIT Real Estate Entrepreneurship Lab is to collaborate with government agencies, universities and colleges, and real estate professional groups to generate online courses useful for the young people worldwide, especially those in the People's Republic of China. We're now accepting applications for the STL / MISTI 2016 Summer Exchange Camp!
2016 Summer Camp
The Department for Urban Studies and Planning, Center for Real Estate, and Samuel Tak Lee MIT Real Estate Entrepreneurship Laboratory (STL Lab) propose to collaborate with the MIT-China Program of the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) on establishing two-week summer workshops or “camps” at Chinese universities and high schools. These summer workshops or camps will engage MIT and Chinese students on topics of socially responsible real estate entrepreneurship and urban development. To facilitate the maximum level of exchanges between Chinese and MIT students, we propose to use games and scenario analyses to conduct these summer camps. Camps are for two weeks at each Chinese host school; and each MIT-China Educational Technology Initiative (CETI) team runs camps at three Chinese schools between June and August.
Recruit and prepare two teams (six students) of MIT students to run six two-week summer camps at six Chinese universities during the summer of 2016. Undergraduate and graduate students will be recruited from the Center for Real Estate, Center for Transportation, Department of Architecture, Department Civil and Environmental Engineering, Department of Computer Science, Department of Urban Studies and Planning, Department of Material Science, Sloan School of Management, and other departments, centers, and labs across MIT.
